+Link Starbureiy's Magic Summer

Sometimes just called the "Magic Summer", refers to the particular epoch on the career timeline of Link Starbureiy, where his output helped advance the technological underpinnings of the nascent jukebox now known as UUe. This was a personal transformation period, and is considered pivotal to his exploration in mathemusic.

During the Summer months [July+August // roughly seven (7) weeks therein] of 2007, Link Starbureiy authored over 160+ articles of original mathemusical research while working in isolation (away from the at-large mathematics community, and people in general). This work was done in a tiny cottage where he was indigent. The sheer creative output, while under lugubrious conditions, led him to call the experience "magical".

Those articles, whether completed or incomplete from that period, later became the bulk of what formed the foundation of 'UUelcome Editions'. (see Bibliography of Link Starbureiy)

Note (+): "UUelcome Editions" is now 'UUhistlegrass', and these 'papers' have been more-or-less converted into manifest files.

+The Egglepple Company

The Egglepple Company (or just Egglepple) is the pseudonym given to what is now known as Egglepple (kindergarten). It was an incorporated@ business entity in various states throughout the United States of America prior to its deprecation, reorganization, and later inclusion into LES. Historically, Egglepple was the very first establishment to be a standalone/independent recreational mathematics+ enterprise (+:=contract-based, sometimes ghostwriting for academe from 10/2000 - 02/2001).Reference: Ohio Secretary of State's Office (also of interest The Stewart Ellis Company - Gobotech, #305)

"Egglepple" is the middle name of Link Egglepple Starbureiy, after whom the company is called, and by whom the entity was created. It spawned from the unincorporated/unorganized Egglepple Portfolio (for toy [puzzle] design, circa 1991).

Note (+): Nowadays, the 'company' portion is assumed to be my roster (of characters/personalities +gallery) and the yots.

Back at The Ohio State University, I put in my time roving the halls of the mathematics, physics/astronomy, and chemistry departments. I was fairly new in that world ("publish or perish") and really wasn't familiar with LaTeX and that publishing scheme back then (the departments certainly didn't make it easy for non-staff to have access to the system), so I did what I did best when it came to visual expression, I drew stuff up/wrote stuff down on napkins (yes, at times with wax crayons🖍️ or colored pencils✏️).

The astronomy department was awesome in the regard that they treated people who came through their doors respectfully. The math department, however, was the total opposite. There was so much ego (mine included) polluting the building that it was almost laughable, yet frustrating. Anyway, there would be these 'challenge' problems/help requests from the community (ie. intra-departmental) often posted on bulletins, offering modest bounties💵 (very short-term contracts) for their solutions. The opportunist in me would peel these from the boards, take them home, and come back shortly thereafter with my answer(s) written on (paperclipped🖇️) napkins. I remember just vagabonding off of those purses (yes, I was a 'bounty hunter') for periods at a time (sometimes in conjunction with all-levels math tutoring/coaching gigs). I guess that - in addition to responding to Michio Kaku's earlier proposition - was me (being the person responsible for) turning math into my version of a sport.

+Robot (play)

Robot is a short one act performance and composition by Link Starbureiy debuting March 19, 1997. The play is a solo piece about a fictional cyborg (lnq) on Earth's🌍 moon🌚🌙 sometime in the distant future.

The ideation and drafting for Robot began in February 1997. This was his final creative arts assignment as a schoolboy, and was scheduled to be performed in an annual talent show the following month. Robot is often credited as the beginning(s) of the proprietorship, Link Egglepple Starbureiy.

I immediately labeled the show a debacle, and attribute my poor outtake to lack of preparation (the script was still being edited only minutes leading to showtime) and a mishandling of the itinerary by stage crew. In all, I later saw the show as a blessing that I would use as fuel to create more one-man acts (later attributed to my foray into vaudeville that Summer) which evolved my opéra-ballet, Stewart. (do not confuse with Link Starbureiy%roster, cyborg, or Starbureiy automaton)

+Link Starbury Network

Link Starbury Network (LSN) was the original name (circa February 1997) of the proprietorship now known as Link Egglepple Starbureiy. From the start, it was an umbrella of works (namely those based on properties from the original Egglepple portfolio) carried over from his gradeschool years that Starbureiy used for creative arts (such as puzzle design and later vaudeville [see Robot]).

LSN would morph into a mathemusical focus by 1998, after Starbureiy began working on the EGP Keynote. (also of interest The Egglepple Company)

Note (+): The name was later modified in the year 2000 to reflect the personal change in the founder's identity, which included the alphanumeric e and i in his surname. (see also Starbureiy nomenclature)

I credit LSN as my foray into the world of professionalism. I consider myself to be a professional athlete of sorts, in the direct mold of mathletics. So, the establishment of LSN marks the point on my timeline when I 'went and turned pro'.

Founded in February 1997, Link Egglepple Starbureiy (LES) is a sole proprietorship managing the career of its owner (namesake), and flagship, UUe®. The LES philosophy is to utilize defensive disclosure, whereby intellectual property (IP) becomes prior art upon intentional forfeiture of patent application code. LES is replete with assets that are constantly used as penetration points.

+Holland Dutch

So, back in Summer 1997 I was in Tampa, Florida touring the Bay Area doing mainly stand-up comedy. I was looking for a new character to develop for one of my weekly open mic shows, and had watched a Pee-wee Herman improv sketch on cable television one day. I knew Paul Reubens to be a funny guy - just from his brilliance portraying the classic Pee-wee persona - but I had never really connected the dots of his comic acting to actual stand-up performance. That show I saw put a lot of things in perspective for me.

Around the same time, there were two (2) other Hollywood movies that were making their rounds on home video distribution - Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) and Mr. Holland's Opus (Richard Dreyfuss). In creating my character, I used 'Holland' for the first name (from Mr. Holland's Opus) and 'Sugar' (from Jay Mohr's Bob Sugar character in Jerry Maguire) to come up with 'Holland Sugar'. The character was basically (at that point in time) a rip-off of Reuben's Pee-wee Herman (right down to the laugh), except that Holland wore purple sweaters and cheap rubber-sole shoes (I had bought a pair from Payless ShoeSource and had gotten really comfortable wearing them everywhere, even on stage). I incorporated the 'Sugar' portion into the act literally, and had Holland subsisting off of sugar (candies, etc.). It wasn't until years later that I had learned that there was a company in The Netherlands also called 'Holland Sugar' which prompted me to change the surname from 'Sugar' to 'Dutch' in order to avoid any potential disputes. -- The character and act are much more evolved now.

The UUe

The UUe is a thesis that discusses topics about cybernetics from a juking perspective. Using the UUe jukebox as the exemplary appliance (in this case an ABI) while at the same time drawing largely on personal experience (it is written in a non-neutral, first-person voice), the article (plus any companion media, such as models) explicitly entails* concepts and a vision for the so-called cyborg.Its main achievement purports to demonstrate the Starbureiy hypothesis in a standalone lab. Note (+): Published under UUhistlegrass. One could postulate that this article, The UUe, is the libretto to ER.

The UUe approaches cybernetics on two (2) fronts. On one front, it demonstrates how to use the game (juking) for optimizing ludology. On the other front, it expands - as a byproduct - on a core outline of essentials for economic fitness (per proofing).

My predisposition is, in fact, largely personal. I was careless and sloppy with my body in my twenties and got injured often. That led to me designing a costume that could regulate my health. I figured the best way to manage all of these (incoming) changes would be to not to do it locally (too much work), but delegate globally instead. Rather than just working on myself (cyborg), it seems easier to become to the central part of cybernetic environment with all parts contributing to 'the body', so to speak.

The UUe assumes that cybernetics is a requisite to having the jukebox becoming a public utility (a central aspect of civil engineering), and hence, cybernetics (governance) are imperative for system autonomy (scalable subject input). To that end, one ambition is to have absolute kernel usage compliancy.


Mathletics (etymology: math+athletics) is any scenario where the actual act of doing mathematics is turned into a legitimate sport. In our case (cf. juking), mathletics* is the mapping of fitness metrics - namely walks - to their respective fibors [mathletics = preimageimage] (ie. a technical understanding of the mechanics to a specific play run), thus making ludology a normal component of recreation. Mathletics may also be defined more primitively; for we can say that the ability to gamify any puzzle-solution (specifically one of capture the flag🚩 objectivity with a bounty program) is a demonstration (ie. competitive flexing) of being subjectively 'mathletic'.Contextual juking. (see also recreational mathematics, cryptosport)

Furthermore, (in gameplay) the mathlete is someone who uses EGP to decrypt/encrypt walks from entropic events. More succinctly, the mathlete is a sport performer (or coach) with priority to act out some particular ballet. In terms of so-called "mathleticism", its definition is of a person's (here, the "mathlete") potential to obtain a high score (translation: earn ¢ents) in competitive mathletics. Note (+): Mathletics is classified under recreational mathematics.

From an historical standpoint, I called it 'mathletics' because after reading the book "Hyperspace" by Michio Kaku, particularly the part where the author enticed readers to find a solution to string field theory, I ended up later creating the EGP Keynote (based off of what I perceived to be a hinted challenge from Kaku). Had I been in academia, this may have been a community effort, but since I worked (as a tendency) in isolation (solo) at the time, I chose to treat it like a sport. Hence the origins of my recreational approach to mathematics.🤓

+ Link Starbureiy single-handedly formulated contemporary mathemusic.🤓 A quintet consisting of a solo symphony - The Origamic Symphony, an opéra-ballet - Stewart, modification+phrasing - Mathilda+RONALD, a tonic - EGP, and a concerto suite - UUallet. These compositions are pushed to uuhistlegrass (libretto). Puwun is his muse.List is not exhaustive; I typically juggle a number of things at once.

Remark: -- This section pertains to K-MODE. --

- lnq, the figure of juking - is a one-of-a-kind, fun-loving juvenile protocyborg who does only as he wants.* In proportion to his ego, therefore, rendering him impervious to boredom and invulnerable to psychosis.
- Egglepple is home to lnq and his yots (ie. lnq and the yots are endemic to Egglepple). It exists on primitive notions, and thus, is always fresh and in the process of becoming.

- lnq (Egglepple's distinct avatar) is a lean, wooly-haired, very dark-skinned toddler clad in pajamas, with a featured yoyo. He is traditionally depicted chewing bubblegum^ while reciting! his repertoire, using a crayon for cheironomy.An everlasting piece (as a perpetual stream) of bubblegum. With dumbness - selectively mute, not stupid.

- lnq often composes mathemusic in a state voluntarily induced/educed by the lullaby, Bernice Eve. Otherwise, he is indefatigable.

- Autodidactic and peripatetic, lnq's preferred playplace (for training) is a gym* (eg. ). Additionally, he might construct impromptu shelter from his hammock on a bigo tree.The playscape may be replete with these.


+ lnq uses the Stewdio (an instrumental analog would be the lyre) exclusively to stereotype EGP/solve Egglepple. He also sports a yoyo for dribbling.

Note (+): Combined, these may be playfully called 'Stewdyo'. The Stewdio is of his own invention.🤓


- Juking, lnq's joie de vivre, is the source of his mathleticism.

- Having Stewniversal autonomy, lnq is the sole entity whose insuperable presence in the Kindergarten can conduct any part of the orchestra. He uses his krayon for ornamenting jukespace. Likewise, he can instinctively trap things (namely fibor) in bubblegum [blown bubbles], which he can then chew until they vanish/absorb.

- lnq is equipped with perpetual youth; advancing strictly in wisdom+intuition (an offered explanation for his caricatured large head*). Being a blackbody, all information is ideally absorbed and emitted, internally cached (optional mind upload/neural download), and can be recalled on-demand (instant replay/playback of events). However, because he can selectively remove his emotions from his experiences, he remains unaffected by memories. This all comes courtesy of having a healthy abundance of (neuro)melanin.Operates as a control hub.

- The bounds of what lnq can imagine are undefined. His imagination is the fountain of his strength and takes him wherever he is (virtually) willing to go.
